Deaconess

The Deaconess are appointed by the Pastor and are called to be servant leaders just like the Deacon Ministry; however, their duties are lighter in comparison to their husband’s role. The primary duty of the Deaconess is to set up the Communion table and participate in the baptism process with the women candidates. The Deaconess Ministry is also expected to maintain all the towels, as well as the baptismal robes of the clergy. As far as ministry is concerned the Deaconess’ should support and encourage their husbands by keeping them lifted in prayer and helping them with their duties. The Deaconess’ should be spiritually equipped to minister, counsel and pray for others. They too should always be ready to serve in any worship service. The Deaconess should remain in constant fellowship with the wives and mothers of the Church.
